Anna Micheloni is a young illustrator and graphic designer who lives in a small town near Trento, the city where she has always created her drawings. Graduated in Graphic Design and Multimedia at the Free Academy of Fine Arts (LABA), she became passionate about illustration and the world of children during her studies.
Her creative approach is very curious: she was a swimming instructor and this experience made her in natural harmony with children. During the swimming lessons she helped children to overcome their fears telling them to imagine colorful fantastic scenarios. Here the idea of linking the world of illustration to the world of childhood.
“At first I didn’t exactly understand how to make my art a real job (especially in Italy). Then, I slowly managed to find my space in the world, drawing my four-legged friends: dogs! I grew up with them and as a child I confess that I was firmly convinced that my golden retriever “Fox” was actually the reincarnation of my grandfather, whom I had never met.”
Anna’s color palette: She doesn’t like strong and punchy contrasts. Anna always tries to use playful colors that convey calm and peacefulness. The act of drawing represents for her moment all to herself (she doesn’t consider it a “real” profession yet).
“Covid made me realize that I will became an illustrator when I will grow up. In this past year I’ve definitely had more time to cultivate this passion. In fact, at the beginning of 2020 I had my first experience in the publishing world, with my two self-published children’s books “IL VENTO” and “LA CASCATA”.
