She says she is inspired by divinities and the sinuous shapes of female figures. When she draws she has the sensation of flourishing, just like a lotus flower that is reborn every day facing its adversities.
Lucrezia Frola is a young illustrator from Turin who has found herself and her happiness in the world of illustration. She grows up in the countryside and in the open spaces, she tries to transport her everyday stories and memories into the surreal, combining them with the animal and naturalistic world that she has always loved and from which she constantly learns.
“Among my favorite subjects the are animals and female figures that bloom from my arm and materialize on paper. The women I draw are part of my personality that is reflected in everyday life. It’s like a sweet journey inside me”.
Determined, introverted, reflective, Lucrezia is strongly influenced by the style of Japanese divinities (Kami 神). Kami in fact is the Japanese word for deity and refers to those supernatural spirits worshipped as the elements of the landscape and the force of nature.
It’s not a coincidence that the color that is dominant more than other in her illustrations is purple, the color of refined women, of elegant clothes, of virtue, but also the color of complexity and mystery. Superlative traits, refined style, lots of color and great passion!
