The magical landscapes in Fabia Rodi’s collages

“My collages represent the landscapes inspired by the architecture and are the natural evolution of my photos”
Fabia studies and works in Madrid as assistant for many photography studios and in 2004 she moved to Rome where she attended a specialistic course at the ‘Scuola Romana di Fotografia’. She held several exhibitions in Italy, Spain, France and New York. In 2016 she starts to experiment the world of collage, using only some cutouts from her photos.
Fabia defines the collage as “the natural evolution of her photographs”: in fact her creative process starts from the shots, then is composed through Photoshop, and in the end becomes a collage (analogic – digital – analogic).

The atmospheres that are created in these masterpieces involve and bring the public back to the buildings of the 70’s.
Most of the first collages in fact were born only from a series of old photographs taken during her travels: landscapes, floors’ patterns, scenarios of botanical gardens are the protagonists of her works and “come to life” becoming multi-dimensional.
Amongst her several projects, we were impressed by the collaboration with the singer Levante: Fabia’s contribution included the creation of some colorful animated collages to be projected during Levante’s concerts.

It’s hard not to be fascinated by these authentic pieces of art! Even “Luxiders”, a magazine dedicated to ecological design and healthy lifestyles, could not resist and relied on Fabia to interpret artistically and to “give life” to the concepts contained in some of their articles.
