The light depth of Pamcoc

Linguistic mastery, exuberance and exaltation of mistakes as strong emotional “short circuit”.

Pamela Cocconi, aka PAMCOC, has started to drow before she can even remember it: her passion for illustration was born during primary school, when she started to read her dad’s Encyclopedia. Her favourite form of expression has always been the analogic one and her material compositions are reproduced with direct and spontaneous black and white strokes, just like her.

The interview with Pamela was a strong experience that opened our mind to a reality where everything is possible if you want it badly enough.

“We are more inspired to get engaged when we strongly desire something; at the same time we are more vulnerable but fearless and we can discover many different worlds thanks to our whishes.”

Pamcoc’s illustrations seems to come straight out of her toughts without any filter but with a defined message. When you look at her art, you inevitably find yourself reflecting on different topics, with a strong focus on the exaltation of the mistakes.

One of her original projects  is “ANIMALI SFACCIATI”, born from the need to give form to her thoughts that are like an animal in a cage. This is a sort of self-therapy figured out by uncommon and unknow animals that replace the human being with an irreverent and crude tone. (Brilliant!)

Pamcoc’s creativity goes on with the creation of “INVASATI”, a project in collaboration with the florist shop “Il chiosco di Lidia”. The artist refers to this project as:

“You need to be dominated and possessed by a strong passion to do things in a certain way. Other times, however, you just need to be put in a vase. I’ve always liked to write on things, so I did it for a limited series of ceramic vases”.

Ingenuity, gaffe and truth are the three distinctive and indispensable ingredients that are part of her shouting and unrestrained essence. An unstable and delightful creativity are present in all her unstoppable drawings and texts, all marked by a disarming linguistic mastery. (Thanks to the “Settimana Enigmistica”? Who knows!).
