The romantic illustration of Luigi Leuce with a retró style

“I love vintage and I’m fascinated by the 70s advertising manifesto. All these influences gave a shape to my bizarre characters”
Graduated at the ‘Accademia delle Belle Arti’ Luigi Leuce lives in Turin where he works as a freelance illustrator. He never stops, always looking for new techniques in the company of Charlie Chaplin and Charlie Brown, two characters that have always been by his side in the world of creativity.
When drawing (exclusively with a musical background) he enters into his own world and what gives him the highest satisfaction is the emotions and the smiles that his illustrations succeed in arousing!
Kind, sensitive, and above all “a dreamer”: that is how Luigi presents himself to our eyes.
During the interview he reveals that for him illustrating is a real necessity that helps him in expressing his feelings and facing the changes that life has in store for him.
Bright and poetic colors, marked by an ever-present dark background, also typical of 70s advertising posters, which have always been his source of inspiration. The dark background helps in fact to bring out the colors of his characters, giving tridimensionality to the work: it seems they “come out” of the canvas, as they wanted to share a message of LOVE AND GRATITUDE towards life. The tecnique he uses is unusual: from the sketch he passes to the drawing made in illustrator, without any support of geometric bases on which to build and develop the shape of the characters. An artist coming from the past that with his style brings positivity in our daily lives!
